The purpose of Middle Level Forensics is to provide an introduction to the several categories of public speaking. Categories include Poetry reading, Prose reading, Extemporaneous reading, Humorous and Serious declamation (memorized presentation), Four minute and Demonstration speech, group play reading, and short story telling (memorized). The forensics meet is usually the first Saturday morning in November.

A goal in Forensics is to provide a successful speaking experience for all the participants. Often the student with the most concerns, such as being shy or having a stutter, has the most success performing beyond their own expectations.

Students who participate in Forensics are expected to follow School District of Mayville co-curricular expectations. To summarize the expectations, students should keep their grades up and behave respectfully in and out of school with appropriate manners.
