The gifted and talented program has existed in Mayville for many years.
Students involved in the program have been identified as gifted and
talented in one of five areas. The five areas are: General
Intellectual, Specific Academic, Leadership, Creativity, and Visual and
Performing Arts.

Identification takes place in grades 3-12. Once a student is identified
the student's classroom teacher and GT coordinator meet to discuss how
to best meet that student's needs. Curriculum may be compacted,
enrichment activities may be given, the student may be accelerated in a
certain subject area, or participate in a small group with other
students who are of higher-ability. The program is designed to meet
students needs and provide them with a challenge.

Mayville also works with five other districts in Dodge County to provide
a network for GT coordinators. This group also hosts a series of
special days for GT students.
