Cardinals on the Move!

We are excited to share with you our plan for some upcoming movement between our buildings in the 2022-23 school year. Our Cardinals are on the move! (click for additional details)

Parkview Early Learning Center & District Office

Our Parkview building will become our Early Learning Center that will house all district-offered 4K, as well as enhanced Special Education programs. We are excited to announce that we will also be partnering with Jaime’s Clubhouse to offer onsite before and after school childcare for students 4K-6th grade, summer care for 4K-6th grade, as well as wrap-around care for 4K opposite their morning or afternoon classes during the 2022-23 school year as well as the summer (beginning in 2023). More information regarding those options and rates will be shared by Jaime’s soon.

The Parkview building will also welcome our District Office. In an effort to streamline and reduce expenses, our current Administrative Building located at N8210 State Rd 28 will be sold and the four members of our district team will find their new home at Parkview.

Mayville Elementary School

Our younger students in grades 5K, 1 and 2 will move to what is now the middle school for the creation of a true elementary school. Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will remain, making Mayville Elementary a 5K-6 building with a new playground scheduled for installation this July!

Mayville Junior/Senior High School

In 2019, we were able to make critical renovations to our high school which resulted in state of the art learning spaces and enhanced academic opportunities for our students. This additional space allows us to move our junior high students (7th and 8th graders) to a dedicated wing at the high school site so that they can take full advantage of our course offerings, electives, and shared staff.

District Calendar Update (change to the last day of school)

Our detailed plans for the logistics of the moves are nearly complete and with that comes a change to our District Calendar. We will move our last day of school for students from Thursday, June 2nd to Thursday, May 26th. Instructional hours will still be met, and this will give our staff time to pack, move and set up in their new spaces prior to summer break.

The strategic moves articulated above support our district’s long term vision of fiscal stewardship, continuous improvement, and cohesiveness.

Opportunities to Learn More

All of our students will have an opportunity to visit their new spaces, meet their new grade level teachers, reconnect with friendly faces they already know and explore their soon-to-be new school homes during the upcoming weeks. We will also be opening our doors for families on May 12th at Mayville Elementary and on June 2nd at Mayville Junior/Senior High to explore the spaces and have the opportunity to connect with our team. More information about our special events will be sent out soon!

We are excited about the upcoming moves that have been planned with our students and staff top of mind. We encourage you to reach out to our administrative team with any questions or concerns and hope that you can attend our upcoming events in May/June.

Warm regards,

Scott Sabol

District Administrator
