Our 7th grade students at MHS visited Cave of the Mounds to compliment their study of erosion, weathering, and the geological processes involved in cave formation. During the visit, students explored the cave system firsthand, observed rock formations created over thousands of years, and learned more about how natural forces continue to shape the Earth. Their learning goals were to be able to explain how water erosion forms caves and sinkholes, and to identify the different types of speleothems that grow in solution caves. Such a cool hands-on learning experience! #mayvillecardinals #mayvilleschools #cardinalpride
