On a cold and very windy Monday, April 20th, Mayville Track competed at the WLA Conference Quad. Congrats to the Girls for taking 1st place, and to the Boys for 3rd! Braxton W. won both the long and triple jumps, Emerson M. won the high jump, and Braxton, Emerson, Owen B. and Mac L. won the 400 relay. The 800 relay including Joe R., Royze M., Charlie G. and Roland S. also won. In the girls meet, Aubree K. won the 200, 400, and high jump, and teamed up with Lydia C., Sidney D., Bella W. to win the 1600 relay! Sidney won the 800 and teamed up with Mette G., Samara H. and Bella to win the 3200 relay. Lydia won the pole vault, Aleah P. won the long jump, and Laila D. won the 100. Great job, Cardinals! Next week the team travels to Campbellsport on Tuesday and hosts the Marshland Invite on Thursday. GO CARDS! #mayvillecardinals #mayvilleschools #cardinalpride

7th graders in Ms. Perkins’ ELA class have been reading Edgar Allan Poe. Last week, students held a courtroom debate to decide the fate of the narrator in the short story “Tell-Tale Heart”. The defense and prosecution both presented arguments, evidence, counter arguments, and a closing statement in the courtroom overseen by a judge (Ms. Perkins!). 🎓✨ Yesterday was an inspiring Academic Career Planning Day at Mayville Jr/Sr High School! 🎓✨

Students had the opportunity to explore future career paths, set goals, and connect their interests with real-world opportunities. Classroom learning sessions, as well as an educational panel and a career fair were the highlights of the day.

Mayville hosted the 10-team Berry Invite on Thursday, 4/9, with the Girls taking 1st and the Boys 2nd! The girls beat Columbus by three points for 1st, and the boys came in 2nd place only to Columbus, down by nine points. The girls and boys each placed in 17 of 18 events.

Emerson M. won both hurdles and the high jump, and Braxton W. won the 100 and was 2nd in the long jump. Braxton also teamed up with Andy C., Joe R. and Isaiah G. to earn 2nd in the 400 relay.

Lydia C. won the pole vault, took 2nd in the high hurdles, 3rd in the 300 hurdles and teamed up with Aubree K., Sidney D. and Destiny G. for 1st in the 1600 relay. Taking 1st in the 400 relay were Laila D., Destiny, Olivia S., and Neva M.

The 3200 relay made up of Sidney, Mette G., Bella W., and Crystall M. took 2nd. Aubree earned 2nd place in both the 400 and high jump, Tiana C. was 3rd in the shot and 4th in the discus, and Mette came in 2nd in the 3200.
